NewGen + Ibrido

Engineered stone update

Previously released engineered stone collections will no longer be available by 1 July 2024.

On December 13, 2023, the Federal government made the decision to ban the supply, distribution and fabrication of engineered stone in Australia. This ban will commence from July 1, 2024. A selection of engineered stone surfaces will be available during the phasing out period, until stocks are exhausted.

Smartstone engineered benchtop ranges will be replaced by our new Sintered Collection: Porcelain, reimagined. in March 2024.

This new innovative surface solution continues Smartstone’s 21 years of leadership in stone benchtop aesthetics, performance and capabilities, providing an optimal alternative to engineered stone and marble benchtops.

Made using a "sintering" process similar to traditional porcelain products, the new Collection offers a more refined aesthetic and exceptional performance.

Being a porcelain product, the Sintered Collection is excluded from the definition of ‘engineered stone’ under WorkSafe guidelines, making it fully compliant with Commonwealth government legislation.

Below is the list of Smartstone engineered surfaces that will be phased out in the coming months.

As stock levels are low, please contact our Customer Service to check Smartstone NewGen and Ibrido stock availability.
